I work in East London and whilst at lunch the other day, I walked past a ‘money shop’. It showed someone cashing a cheque and then holding a glass of champagne with balloons in the background with the words, ‘what would you do with £150?’, then another picture, with someone carrying a load of shopping bags with the words ‘what would you do with £250?’

It really annoyed me because it was a loan of some sort, but this aimed at people who have got stuck with bills or rent or whatever, but is aimed at someone borrowing some money to go and spend it up. Really encouraging debt and in a deprived and disadvantaged part of london, they really dont care.

there should be a clause in your contract stating that after you have paid at least half of the car you can hand it back to the finance company i know my dad done it three years ago

there are some vile sharks out there, have you seen the add where they offer old folks some cash for their homes and then take them when they die. what they do not mention is that they pay them about a third of what the property is actually worth.

I’m not trying to be antagonistic here as I do agree with your point generally about what advertising / t.v are allowed to get away with. However why is always assumed that women who stay at home or on benefits are as thick as pig sh1t and can’t work out for themselves what the advertisers are up to .

My MUM was a single parent and remained on benefits all through my child hood , why? because she had to no WANTED to care for my Nan who was in a wheelchair from the age of 39 crippled with reum arthritis , what my mother must have saved the state!

I stay at home and my husband works cos that’s what works for us . We have £ 80 a week disposable income for us and two kids ( yes I know some people don’t even have that ) Do I wish for more ? Too bloody right but I like thousands of women who either choose to or are forced to be at home I do have a brain to differentiate between reality and fiction . I don’t even watch the telly during the day guess what ??? I knit porridge ALL DAY.

The dole scrounger ones that live on my bus route go to Bingo so why not at least they can attend a different one. If they want to lose their money playing a boring game let them. Switch the channel if you are buying their rubbish ads.
